Beginning with a striking scene in a Brussels metro station, she traces the contradictions between the EU’s promise of mobility and equality and the lived experiences of those actively excluded from social protection. Drawing on fieldwork, the piece shows how precarious labour, restricted welfare access, and contested definitions of “home” shape homelessness across European member states.
